Developing Resources for Teaching and Learning of Japanese Language
In order to support JSL/JFL teachers, learners, curriculum designers, test developers, and textbook writers, the Institute develops and maintains resources such as the following.
- A database of actual use of Japanese language among foreign residents in Japan;
- A prototype of a learner-friendly dictionary, based on the research outcomes;
- Lists of learning items and criteria for goals at different levels in Japanese language education; and
- Prototype systems for evaluation and assessment on language learning.
